It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

I love making Christmas cards...the funny part of that statement is that I only own **GASP** one Christmas stamp set. It was one of the first stamp sets that I bought when I discovered Stampin' Up about 3 years ago. The stamp set is "Holiday Tag Team" I have never gotten around to getting another Christmas set, well because honestly this set has everything, lol.

I really like this card, to make it I stamped the Bashful Blue, with snowflakes using Versamark ink, then I heat embossed them with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The next step was to punch the word window punch on the right hand side. This is where the greeting slides in and out of. To create the message pull I cut a strip of cardstock just smaller than the word window, and then a white one that is 1/4" smaller than that. I stamped the sentiment with Bashful Blue, and used Chocolate Chip direct to paper to distress the edges. I adhered the two together and then added a piece vertically at the end, to prevent the message piece from coming out all the way. Kind of like a stopper. I put the sentiment strip through the word window and punched a hole in the end with the 1/8 hole punch. A little gingham ribbon completes it with a little pull. Then I tied the Chocolate grosgrain around the blue piece and another small piece of blue gingham around the chocolate.

Then I adhered the blue to the chocolate card back, being careful to only use adhesive on the corners so that the message strip can slide in and out easily without getting stuck on adhesive. The snowman was stamped in chocolate chip on whisper white, and was colored in with Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue Stampin' Write markers. He is mounted on another small piece of the Holiday Thyme designer paper from the Holiday Mini, and that whole piece is mounted on the card. The directions took longer to type than the actual card took to make, so don't be scared off from trying one of your own!!

Very Cute Cori!!
I'd use Choc Chip Ink on your sentiment to make it stand out a little more.
But otherwise, very adorable and I'd better be getting one!! LOL
